रविवार को देहरादून में कांग्रेस की रैली, परीक्षा और मेले के कारण भयंकर जाम लग गया। घंटाघर, राजपुर रोड जैसे मुख्य स्थानों पर लंबा जाम रहा। पलटन बाजार में भारी भीड़ के कारण स्थिति और भी खराब हो गई। मसूरी जाने वाले पर्यटक भी जाम में फंसे रहे, क्योंकि पुलिस व्यवस्था बनाए रखने में व्यस्त थी।
वीकेंड पर दून से ऋषिकेश तक जाम से हर कोई परेशान रहा। लच्छीवाला टोल प्लाजा पर भी वाहनों की भीड़ रही। इससे वाहन रेंग-रेंगकर चले और लोगों-पर्यटकों को दिक्कतें झेलनी पड़ीं। सुबह से शाम तक यही स्थिति रही। ऋषिकेश में पर्वतीय क्षेत्रों से दिल्ली-हरियाणा की ओर लौटते पर्यटकों के कारण वाहनों का दबाव रहा।
रविवार को हर रोज के मुकाबले दून की सड़कों पर राहत रहती है लेकिन इस रविवार को राहत नहीं मिल सकी। रेंजर्स ग्राउंड में मेले के चलते और उसके आसपास सड़कों पर बाजार लगा रहा।
सुबह से ही बाजारों व मुख्य मार्गों पर बढ़ी भीड़ ने हालात बिगाड़ दिए। दोपहर तक स्थिति यह हो गई कि कई इलाकों में वाहन रेंग-रेंगकर चलने लगे। शहर के प्रमुख चौराहे घंटाघर, राजपुर रोड, लैंसडोन चौक, चकराता रोड, हरिद्वार रोड व जोगीवाला में लंबा जाम लगा रहा।
जाम का मुख्य कारण शहर में बड़े आयोजन भी रहे। एक तरफ जहां कांग्रेस की रैली में शामिल होने के लिए कार्यकर्ता जगह-जगह कांग्रेस भवन पहुंचे, वहीं दूसरी ओर कई स्कूलों में यूकेएसएसएससी की प्रतियोगी परीक्षा थी। इसी तरह रेंजर्स ग्राउंड में मेला लगा हुआ है।
रविवार को छुट्टी के कारण बड़ी संख्या में लोग मेला देखने के लिए पहुंचे और वाहन सड़क किनारे ही खड़े कर दिए। आम दिनों में रविवार को इसी ग्राउंड में संडे बाजार लगता है, लेकिन ग्राउंड में मेला लगने के कारण कईयों ने अपनी दुकानें बाहर ही लगा दी, जिसके कारण जाम की समस्या और भी बढ़ गई।
पलटन बाजार में पैर रखने की जगह नहीं मिली
यही हाल कुछ पलटन बाजार का रहा। संडे मार्केट न लगने के कारण खरीदार पलटन बाजार में शापिंग करने के लिए उमड़ पड़े। स्थिति यह रही कि बाजार में पैर रखने के लिए जगह नहीं मिली।
पुलिस की ओर से दोपहिया व चारपहिया वाहनों पर कोई रोक नहीं लगाई गई, जिसके कारण इन वाहनों के कारण लंबा जाम लगा रहा। मच्छी बाजार में एक एंबुलेंस करीब आधा घंटा फंसी रही, जिसमें शव रखा हुआ था।
मसूरी जाने वाले पर्यटक भी जाम में फंसे
जाम का असर केवल शहर के अंदर ही नहीं रहा बल्कि मसूरी रोड पर भी लंबा जाम देखने को मिला। शनिवार व रविवार को बड़ी संख्या में पर्यटक घूमने के लिए मसूरी पहुंचते हैं।
कई पर्यटक ऐसे होते हैं जोकि शुक्रवार व शनिवार को मसूरी घूमने के बाद रविवार को वापस होते हैं। ऐसे में बड़ी संख्या में वाहन आने व जाने के कारण सड़क पर लंबा जाम लगा रहा। पर्यटकों को अपने गंतव्य तक पहुंचने में काफी देरी हुई।
रैली व पेपर में व्यस्त रही पुलिस, जाम की तरफ नहीं दिया ध्यान
शहर के चौराहे व तिराहों पर पुलिस भी कम ही देखने को मिली। पुलिस के लिए कांग्रेस की रैली व पारदर्शी परीक्षा करवाना बड़ी चुनौती थी, ऐसे में यातायात की तरफ ध्यान नहीं दिया गया। ऐसे में पूरे शहर की यातायात व्यवस्था चरमरा गई।
