पिछले कई दिनों से मौसम का मिजाज बदलने से यूपीसीएल को भी बड़ी राहत मिली है। एक ओर जहां बिजली की मांग में कमी आ गई है तो दूसरी ओर राज्य व केंद्रीय पूल से मिलने वाली बिजली की मात्रा भी बढ़कर 41 एमयू तक पहुंच गई है।
गर्मियों के दिनों में यूपीसीएल की डिमांड 50 मिलियन यूनिट तक पहुंच गई थी। इसके सापेक्ष बिजली की उपलब्धता भी महज 29 से 31 मिलियन यूनिट ही हो रही थी। इस वजह से रोजाना निगम 12 से 14 मिलियन यूनिट बिजली बाजार से महंगे दामों पर खरीद रहा था। सप्ताहभर में बदले मौसम के मिजाज से प्रदेश में बिजली का उत्पादन बढ़ गया है।
यूपीसीएल के एसई कॉमर्शियल गौरव शर्मा ने बताया कि अब यूजेवीएनएल और केंद्रीय पूल से करीब 40 से 41 मिलियन यूनिट बिजली उपलब्ध हो रही है। निगम को अपेक्षाकृत कम बिजली खरीदनी पड़ रही है। शनिवार के लिए प्रदेश में 48.04 मिलियन यूनिट बिजली की कमी थी, जिसके सापेक्ष राज्य व केंद्र से 41.19 मिलियन यूनिट बिजली उपलब्ध है।
यूपीसीएल ने केवल 6.85 मिलियन यूनिट बिजली ही खरीदी है। माना जा रहा है कि बारिश होने की वजह से जल विद्युत परियोजनाओं में बिजली उत्पादन बढ़ गया है। पहले जहां राज्य में करीब 13 से 14 एमयू बिजली का उत्पादन हो रहा था, वह बढ़कर 20 एमयू तक पहुंच गया है।
